BedMart, Hawaii’s largest family owned and operated mattress retailer, announces its donation of 101 Tempur-Pedic mattresses and GBS mattress protectors to three Lihue nonprofit organizations. The mattress company is celebrated its grand opening on Kauai in the Hokulei Village Shopping Center in Puhi by giving back to community groups with a spring donation event on April 6.
Since 1996, Women In Need has focused on helping individuals and families at risk on Kauai. “In order for WIN to continue serving clients and doing what we do, it’s imperative that community members, agencies and businesses collaborate to support efforts to help our people on Kauai,” says Kimberly P. Cummings, Clinical Director for Women In Need. “[With this donation,] we will now be able to replace all of the beds in our transitional home. BedMart will be helping mothers and children to receive adequate sleep which is an integral part of beginning to live a healthy lifestyle.”
The US Veteran’s Initiative helps military veterans and their families with housing, counseling and comprehensive support. “The success of our agency is based on the success of the veterans and their families whom we serve,” says Marina Buenrostro, Case Manager for US Veterans Initiative. “We are loyal to our veterans and to our mission.”
Kauai Economic Opportunity works to alleviate poverty in the local community by providing emergency shelter, transitional housing, homeless outreach and many other programs.
